Emerald Quay Casino & Residences

A full public-area repositioning of a harbourside property built in the late 1990s, delivered in four stages while the venue continued to trade seven days a week.

Objectives

Lift the arrival sequence to match a newly premium room product
Connect a disconnected atrium to the gaming floor beyond
Replace failing floor coverings without closing more than one zone at a time

Challenges

The atrium is a heritage-listed volume, so no structural changes were permitted. Every intervention had to be reversible and fixed back to existing substrates without penetration of the original stone.

Furniture. Sixty lounge seats in three cluster typologies, two reception compositions and eleven occasional tables.

Lighting. Suspended sculptural centrepiece, perimeter coves and DALI-2 scene control across five trading modes.

Decor. Bronze threshold screen, mirrored lift-lobby composition and a commissioned entrance artwork.

Meridian Private Salon Collection

Six identical high-limit rooms rebuilt as six individually authored salons, each with its own material identity, art commission and lighting character.

Objectives

Achieve measurable acoustic separation between adjacent salons
Give repeat guests a room they could request by name
Improve seating comfort for sessions exceeding six hours

Challenges

The existing wall build-ups offered barely 28 dB of separation. Rebuilding within the existing grid meant gaining acoustic mass without losing usable floor area.

Furniture. Thirty-six high-limit chairs with deeper foam profiles, six bespoke tables and six host service credenzas.

Lighting. Guest-accessible preset control per salon, warm 2700 K scheme with concealed sources throughout.

Decor. One commissioned artwork and one bespoke rug per room, no two salons sharing a palette.

46 dB measured separation between adjacent salons

Northcape Resort Bar & Lounge

A tropical resort beverage venue rebuilt for humidity and salt exposure after the previous fit-out failed within four years of opening.

Objectives

Specify materials that survive coastal humidity and salt air
Shift the venue's evening register from daytime resort to premium lounge
Increase beverage revenue per square metre without reducing seat count

Challenges

Freight and trade access to a regional site required almost the entire package to be delivered in two consolidated shipments with no opportunity for late variations.

Furniture. Curved banquette runs, forty-two bar stools with protected base rings and eighteen lounge clusters.

Lighting. Back-bar display lighting, low-level table lighting and a warm dusk-to-late scene programme.

Decor. Woven metal ceiling feature and a locally commissioned reef-inspired wall installation.

Solvane Grand Gaming Floor

A complete main-floor refurbishment covering carpet, seating, lighting and column treatments across two connected trading levels.

Objectives

Replace 5,900 m² of floor covering in staged night works
Reduce reverberation on a level with an exposed hard ceiling
Introduce a wayfinding logic between machine banks and table zones

Challenges

The two levels had drifted apart visually over a decade of piecemeal works. A single palette had to unify them without a full architectural rebuild.

Furniture. Four hundred and twelve machine chairs and sixty-eight table game chairs on a common design platform.

Lighting. Zoned ambient scheme with dedicated table luminaires and a 34% reduction in installed lighting load.

Decor. Column treatments and zone-marking screens establishing a hierarchy across both levels.

Aurelia Club Members Lounge

A members-only lounge and small gaming room for a private club, delivered under confidentiality with a residential level of finish.

Objectives

Create a lounge that reads as a private residence rather than a venue
Provide discreet gaming within the same footprint
Complete the works between two membership seasons

Challenges

Access was via a single service lift with a 1.9 m car depth, so every joinery element had to be designed in demountable sections.

Furniture. Twenty-eight lounge seats, four gaming positions, a marble bar and a library-style reading wall.

Lighting. Table lamps and wall lights only in the lounge, with dedicated table lighting in the gaming room.

Decor. Curated art programme of twelve works and a commissioned bronze object for the entry.

Palace Meridian Hotel Integration

Reception, lift lobbies and connecting circulation rebuilt to visually link a new hotel tower with an existing casino floor.

Objectives

Establish one material language across hotel and gaming
Rebuild reception for higher arrival volumes
Keep hotel check-in operating throughout the works

Challenges

Two design teams had already documented the tower and the casino separately. Reconciling them required a shared palette developed after both packages were complete.

Materials

Dark granite
Emerald marble
Brushed silver mesh
Wool broadloom

Furniture. Dual-height reception composition, arrival lounge clusters and concierge joinery.

Lighting. Continuous cove language carried from tower lobby through to the gaming threshold.

Decor. Metal mesh screening and a three-storey suspended artwork in the connecting void.
